About K-ACTE

The vision of the Kansas Association for Career and Technical Education (K-ACTE) is to serve the needs of career and technical education for the development and expansion of a competitive workforce.

The mission of the Kansas Association for Career and Technical Education through involvement of a diverse membership will:

  • Be a resource to career and technical educators;
  • Facilitate the achievement of the goals and objectives of the K-ACTE members; and
  • Act as the voice for career and technical education in Kansas.

Affiliates


The K-ACTE is the voice for career and technical education in the state of Kansas.  Through a wide range of programs and events, K-ACTE acts as a resource to vocational-technical teachers, counselors, administrators, and teacher educators.  Based in Topeka, Kansas, the K-ACTE is made up of seven affiliate groups, each with a specific focus:

KAAE - Kansas Association of Agricultural Educators
KATFACS - Kansas Association of Teachers of Family & Consumer Sciences
KBOA - Kansas Business Occupations Association
KCCTEA - Kansas Council of Career & Technical Education Administrators (formerly KCVA)
KHSEA - Kansas Health Science Education Association
KIEA - Kansas Industrial Educators Association
KNRS - Kansas New & Related Services

Board of Directors

The K-ACTE Board of Directors is made up of a Executive Committee (President, First President-Elect, 2nd President-Elect, and Immediate Past-President), each from a different affiliate group.  The Board of Directors also consists of the President and President-Elect from each affiliate, as well as a representative from the Kansas State Department of Education and the Kansas Board of Regents.
